Description
Digital Learning Logs aren't quite a blog , nor are they a portfolio. They are meant to be a place for students to store their work and reflect on their learning. In this course, you will assess how teachers and students are using student blogs to create real world writing opportunities with real audiences outside the classroom. In the second part of the course ,you will build a digital learning log to keep track of your own learning.
Why it Matters
Every year, by the last bell, students have tossed, lost, or just abandoned their notebooks. Essays, labs, posters, and projects out the window, never to be seen again. What a waste! Learning is about seeing growth. If students never look back, how will they recognize how far they've come? Digital Learning Logs provide a way for students to collect and reflect digitally. They can attach multimedia presentations, link to reading lists, as well as embed and reflect on videos, essays, or news stories. Best of all, the logs can be used to help students show their skills to future employers or college admissions teams.
